DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES: Teach the following interdisciplinary courses: Humanities: ancient to Medieval: Humanities: Renaissance to Modern and Survey of Art and Music. Serve as Coordinator of the Humanities program. Perform administrative duties of the Program, including preparing and overseeing the budget, arranging semester schedules and textbook requisitions, writing grants, supervising dual credit instructors, supervising and hiring adjunct instructors who teach Humanities and Philosophy courses. Coordinate the annual Creative Mind Humanities Lecture Series. Coordinate the Sybil B. Harrington Faculty Seminar when offered. Serve on campus committees as needed. Be able to use the latest instructional technology in the classroom. Teach online as well as traditional classes. Teach summer classes as needed.

SALARY: Based on the Faculty Salary Schedule. Excellent benefits.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Successful College teaching in Humanities.
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in a related field required. Interdisciplinary Degree in Humanities or Humanities area with additional graduate hours in another area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have demonstrated ability to teach and motivate students; good interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of or willingness to learn distance learning pedagogy including on-line teaching and interactive video teaching. Use of computers and instructional technology in the classroom. Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time. Some travel may be required along with some evening and weekend work. Teach off campus, weekend and evening classes as needed. Ability to work under stress, to work independently and as a team member, and deal with students in a professional manner.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Experience teaching in a community college is preferred. Experience in on-line instruction is also preferred.
